Ducatijev MotoGP šef Paolo Ciabatti je priznal, da je italijanska znamka utrpela številne rane zaradi dveh sezon neuspehov z Valentinom Rossijem.
Ducati je letos s Francescom Bagnaio osvojil prvi naslov po 15 letih, v tem času pa obdobje z Valentinom Rossijem terjalo visok davek zaradi visokih pričakovanj in slabih rezultatov.
Rossi se je Ducatiju pridružil v sezoni 2011 in ga ob koncu 2012 zapustil, v tem času pa je na pogled sanjska italijanska kombinacija postregla le s tremi uvrstitvami na stopničke. Stanje v moštvu je bilo po besedah Ciabattija zaradi spodletelega sodelovanja precej toksično, celo do te mere, da je sredi 2013 razmišljal o odhodu po le nekaj mesecih sodelovanja.
